My Story

A career built on
building things that work

I bought my first computer in 1977 — 16K of RAM. By 1979 I was writing I/O code for a new operating system. That hands-on relationship with technology has never stopped.

My career has spanned systems programming, Senior Technical Writer, Systems Administrator, Systems Analyst, and Senior Systems Engineer in pre-sales at NCD in Silicon Valley. I contracted at Lucent Technologies, served as volunteer webmaster for a North Carolina nonprofit, and spent years as an electronic publishing specialist for a UK nonprofit — writing Python and PHP, producing EPUBs, and distributing scripture in Arabic, Farsi, and Turkish to readers across the Middle East and Central Asia.

I hold graduate study credentials in Anthropology and Linguistics from the University of Texas Arlington — a background that shapes how I think about communication, adoption, and the human side of technology implementation.

Today, at 78, I am an active AI consultant and enrolled in the AI Consultant Certification Program through AI Innovision (Alicia Lyttle). I completed Anik Singal's Make My Clone Challenge twice. I work daily with ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, Perplexity, and NotebookLM.

I am a Vietnam veteran — and that service informs everything: discipline, directness, a focus on mission, and genuine care for the people I work alongside.

What I Stand For

Values that show up in every engagement

These are not marketing words — they are the product of five decades of working alongside people to solve real problems.

🧭

Honesty Over Hype

AI is powerful — and it is also overhyped. I will tell you honestly what it can and cannot do for your specific situation, and I won't recommend tools just because they're trendy.

🔧

Practical Implementation

I have been building and fixing things since 1976. Theory is fine; working systems are better. Every recommendation I make is grounded in what I have actually built and tested.

🎓

Teaching, Not Dependency

My goal is for your team to understand and own the tools I help you implement — not to create a consulting dependency. I work myself out of a job on purpose.

🤝

Mission Alignment

Especially for nonprofits and faith communities — I understand that technology serves your mission, not the other way around. I will never lose sight of what you're actually trying to accomplish.
